announced Motorola .

The platform will be fully open for assembly, in fact, Motorola will offer only the base (endoskeleton), and the modules — the processor, battery, screen, or keyboard — will be offered by third-party manufacturers.

“We want to do the same thing with the hardware that the Android platform did with software - to create a vibrant development ecosystem, lower entry barriers, increase innovation and significantly reduce development time,” the company writes.
The company is currently working with Dave Hackens, the creator of Phonebloks to create an ecosystem, and they are planning to invite third-party manufacturers to develop individual units in a few months.
