Where does hard drive space disappear in Mac OS X

Being the happy owner of a MacBook Pro with a 256GB SSD, I began to notice that the system is growing in an incomprehensible way.

It seems that films are being downloaded to an external hard drive, only working files are on the SSD, and the place disappears somewhere.
Of the 256Gb, only 107Gb is left over time.

The OmniDiskSweeper utility showed that about 70 Gb of user data should be occupied. The question is - what about 80Gb?
')
Typing in the terminal
# du -h -d 1 /
I saw at the root of a strange folder called / .MobileBackups, just occupying 80Gb.

Further search found out that this is a local backup, which creates TimeMachine in case you don’t have a backup disk at hand. Those. in fact, when you delete files from the recycle bin, they are not physically deleted, but transferred to this folder.

All this is disabled through the console:
# sudo tmutil disablelocal
