The past , 2007. For three years now, American police have been using Phraselator P2 for communicating with foreigners, a device that instantly translates phrases and speech patterns from English into one of 40 languages.
YouTube, 2 minutes 09 seconds The company Voxtec , producing Phraselator P2, with special respect gave the device the name of a fantastic prototype from Star Trek. Serious dimensions and original design of the device emphasize its main purpose - a means of resolving various language misunderstandings in military and street conflicts (apparently, the designer has provided that if you don’t understand it, you will be able to knock). In 2008, the phrasebook will be available to everyone (2500 USD).
