Free mobile phone calls via Tele2

Today, for the first time, I made such a free call on a mobile phone, for which it was enough for me to have a “regular” cellular connection. I emphasize: this call did not go over the Internet (that is, not via Skype or SIP, where you will not surprise anyone for free), but through the “usual” cellular operator, Tele2 . I called the subscriber of another mobile operator.

At the same time, my call for free was not provided by advertising (like in European Blyk ) and not by any fixed advance monthly or weekly fee (which I should call calls not “free”, but “unlimited”). My call was free at the rate.

And all this is due to the fact that the day before yesterday (October 16, 2013) on the Tele2 website the news about the appearance of the new tariff Again cheaper ” was posted, in terms of which free outgoing calls are registered. As soon as I found the time to study the conditions of this tariff in more detail, I immediately switched to it.

The volume of free calls is limited both in time (no more than 30 minutes per day) and in space (only on mobile and landline phones of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea). But I am not a great lover of chatting on a mobile phone, so this half an hour will be enough for most of the days.

It is immediately noticeable that on this tariff it can annoy the expensive Internet (6 rubles per megabyte), so it is appropriate (and not even necessary) to purchase some discount to taste (say, “ Internet from the phoneor “ Internet freedom ” , depending on traffic volumes). I had one of them connected before that, and when switching to the new tariff, it was preserved - so I pay the Internet for the same price, but the calls are free.

What does the emergence of this new reception in the competition between cellular providers in Russia show?

First, the psychological limit is reached - zero rubles. Then you can only expand the geography of calls or the number of free minutes. Perhaps by itself, the new tariff is such an expansion in relation to those tariffs of other operators, which also offered free calls, but within the operator alone (I will list them in the traffic light order: the Super MTS tariff at MTS, the Zero " At" Beeline ", the tariff " Go to ZERO " at" MegaFon ").

Secondly, you can take a breath after the March news that VTB acquired the Russian branch of Tele2. Then many, many feared that cheap Tele2 tariffs would go somewhere else ; but no - they have not gone anywhere, and even a new tariff with free calls appeared.
