The other day for android, a new project was launched:
Aviate , a launcher capable of adapting to the needs of the phone owner and displaying the applications and widgets that are currently needed.

In the video on the developer’s website, it’s a short story that this wonderful program will make life easier, and managing all those applications ’accumulations (many of them are dozens) on your smartphone is easier and faster.
I managed to get an invite and rolled up a small overview of this project.

Interface
After installing the application, the main screen of the smartphone is divided into 3 parts: Main screen, Groups of applications and All applications. You can navigate between them using the usual svaypov.

Main screen, groups of applications and all applications
Widgets on the main screen can be replaced with your own ones (which I did), there is also a “Favorite” zone in the lower part where you can put frequently used ones. In groups on the second screen, applications are combined based on their properties, descriptions in Google Play and lists of Aviate developers. Unicode is supported, so on the “All Applications” screen you can see Russian names and correct alphabetical navigation.

Swipe to the right on the main screen shows the settings menu, which is already customary for applications on Androoid 4.3.
In the settings, you can choose a light or dark theme, as well as turn on the power saving mode.

Ideology
The main screen is adaptive and is configured to present as sets of widgets and applications:
Home ,
Work ,
Going somewhere and the most unusual
Nearby . All applications are automatically grouped by their subject and displayed in the appropriate view.
For example, in the Work view, a widget is displayed with icons for email, quickoffice, keep, etc., as well as an event widget.

But the most interesting seemed to me nearby view, the choice of which first displays a list of nearby objects from Foursquare.

And when you select an object, the display is rebuilt in accordance with its properties.
For example, I chose the MSU Science Park and showed me popular tips, suggested checking in and out of the learning-related applications.

Another necessary function is the hint of applications that may be interesting in this category.

findings
Although this is an alpha version, now the application works quickly and smoothly without any brakes or hangs, eats little battery and in my opinion has a number of useful functions. He clearly has the potential, especially since Aviate stands out from all the launchers that are currently on Google Play.
ps By the way, anyone who has already set himself this launcher, can invite 5 friends.
