The Russian Public Initiative site has again been severely tested for high loads. After publishing Navalny's post about his second initiative, the news of which also appeared in the media (in particular on Lenta.ru), the ROI website could last for about an hour. After that, he began to issue 500 errors, an error stating that the config file could not be found and connected to the database. As a result, in the emergency mode, the inscription was added, that the voices will be updated with a long delay, and at first it was just written in black text, then refined with CSS.

They also removed the number of votes for and against the initiative itself, although I personally don’t understand this, because the page is still cached, what prevents you from updating the number of votes at the same time as the percentage of voters?

Even after an hour, ROI seems to have begun to come to life (possibly due to the fact that the working day has ended) and the results have already been updated every 5 minutes. As usual,
screwed the monitoring of the vote , where you can monitor the dynamics of voting.
PS Since there are representatives of the ROI on Habré, it would be interesting to later see the report about the influx of people, and about the aftermath.
UPD. By request, I add links to the post which caused an avalanche on the ROI:
navalny.livejournal.com/868564.htmllenta.ru/news/2013/10/14/visaUPD 2. It looks like the habra effect has finished off the site of the POI and already a stupid 500 error is issued, although I specifically did not give direct references to the ROI, but this did not help much. So, that people easier there.
