Instagram Drama - fan lock accounts

For more than a day now, Instagram users have been sowing panic with unpredictable blocking of user accounts. So far, only well-known instablogers have come under the blows of the “Damocles sword”: soloist “System of a Down” Serge Tankian, singers Noize MC and Oxxxymiron, actors Sergey Bezrukov, Nikita Dzhigurda, Anna Semenovich, figure skater Tatiana Navka, video bloggers Roma Acorn, Maxim “Tesak” Martsinkevich, Stas Davydov (“This Is Good”), Andrey Nifedov and Maxim “Snailkick” Kiselev, owner of 2ch.hk Abu, translator Dmitry “Goblin” Puchkov and others.

A certain user, Peka73Rus, managed to find a loophole on Instagram that allows you to “block a monastery ” from banning users of this service: if you violate the terms of use, user accounts are automatically blocked without prior warnings.

At first, the attack scheme was kept secret. Later, blocked rapper Oxxxymiron reported that he received about a thousand mentions on Instagram within five minutes before blocking. Other victims confirmed these facts. Later, it was possible to recreate the method used by the attacker: on behalf of several accounts, references to the target account with the call to subscribe to it are published, after which a complaint (spam-report) is filed on these records.
