Protector: armored robot with heavy weapons

On Habré quite often published news about military robots, that is, robotic devices created for the military. Usually it is auxiliary mechanisms, designed for reconnaissance, then for carrying goods. But there are also projects that are created with one goal - direct participation in conflicts. That is - weapons-equipped robots.

One of the latest developments (submitted by HDT) is the Protector robot. With such weapons, like this device, it would be more suited to the name of the Terminator, to be honest. Judge for yourself: the robot is equipped with an M240 machine gun, armored so that few bullets from it can cause harm, plus quite mobile.

He can carry, among other things, almost 600 kilograms of cargo, overcome obstacles and perform other feats. The Protector is also equipped with a diesel engine with 32 horsepower. In addition to the machine gun, the robot can be equipped with various kinds of modules, including manipulators, communication devices, and so on.

It is controlled by the wireless operator (apparently, the wires in the photo were used during the test), using the game controller. The operator can put the robot on "cruise control", and then the Protector gets the opportunity for independent movement, while maintaining the specified speed and direction. At any time, control can be returned to the operator.

Among other things, Protector easily understands into four parts, however, each such "piece" requires the participation of four strong men for transportation.
