Samsung announced the world's first smartphone with a curved screen - GALAXY Round
It was only a matter of time when the technology of curved screens, announced in recent years, will receive practical application in mobile devices. And there is nothing surprising in the fact that Samsung Electronics has become the first company in the world to introduce a curved screen smartphone, the GALAXY Round.
The filling of the GALAXY Round smartphone is largely identical to the one that GALAXY Note 3 boasts. The mobile device is equipped with a 5.7-inch screen (Full HD-resolution, 1920x1080 pixels), a quad-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, 13-megapixel main and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras. The battery capacity is 2800 mAh. The new smartphone is thinner (7.9 mm versus 8.3) and lighter (154 g versus 168) than GALAXY Note 3. It is also known that the GALAXY Round works on the basis of the Android 4.3 mobile OS and supports the fourth generation mobile communication standard LTE.

In fairness, it should be noted that smartphones with body curves have been released before. These include, for example, the GALAXY Nexus smartphone, but only the body itself is curved, and the screen surface remains flat, while the GALAXY Round was curved and the screen - for this, the standard display on the glass substrate had to be replaced with a plastic one.
The Roll Effect feature will allow the user to see the date, time, information about missed calls and battery charge when the main screen is inactive on the side of a curved screen, or switch a track in the player — just tilt the mobile device to one side or the other.
Samsung GALAXY Round will appear on the shelves of South Korea tomorrow. In the first days of sales, a curved gadget will cost about $ 1,000. There is no information about the release date of the novelty in the domestic market.
