Last year on Habré was published the most
interesting news that one of the fans of the world Civilization II has continued to play this game for 10 years. During this time, hundreds of years passed in the game world, and the gamer managed, in fact, space and nuclear powers. True, this world was in a state of permanent war, in which no one could win - all parties were approximately in equal conditions.
The other day, it was not 10, but 11 years of playing in Civilization II, and our gamer, Lycerius (nickname with Reddit) reports on the past period of time.
')
So, immediately after his story hit the Web, thousands of people began to look for a way out of this situation. It was proposed a lot of options, among which was one hundred percent. The plan proposed by another Reddit user was to lead our Lycerius to a complete victory in about 58 years of play.
But, after so much time, the gamer no longer wanted to win, and besides, he did not want to use "peaceful" scenarios, which consisted in reducing all conflicts to a neutral world. He wanted to see what the continuation of this endless in-game war would lead to. Therefore, the gamer decided to use his own script, and played for more than 200 years.
In the 41st century (game), Lycerius decided to launch an offensive, very large-scale, against the new Viking capital, Piza (the nation of the gamer, the Celts). He hoped that his attack would lead to a civil war among the Vikings (after the capture of the capital, the nation could split into two parts, fighting against each other), which would ensure his victory. It turned out that everything is wrong. Instead of fighting with each other, the Vikings united against the invader (they did not manage to hold the seized capital), and the uprisings and civil actions appeared in large numbers among the gamer people.
In general, so far the war has stalled again, but based on the game,
popular science novels and stories are being
written , and work is underway to create an
Eternal War RPG within the framework of the same game world.
What will happen next year? Let's see, maybe the war will end ...
