Despite the problems, difficulties and all sorts of misadventures, the development of our “more than a reader” has advanced far ahead. We have completed work on the creation of the project architecture, refined the interaction mechanisms with the iLook platform, and have made significant progress in developing mobile applications. But most importantly: we have completed work on creating the “heart” of our
Media Center - the server part of the reader with an open API. And today we invite you to join the test of the efficiency of the combat API on the prototype stand.

ILook platform
In the previous post, we
noted that the iLook Media Center allows you to read not only news from the usual RSS feeds, but also create your own thematic streams (by search words and / or sources), add existing streams and customize the reading of social media tapes.
This functionality was made possible thanks to the existing technology platform iLook, using which the media center receives information feeds.
The platform API we have created will be open to developers of third-party applications, so a couple of words about the platform.
The iLook platform in real time collects, stores and multifactor analysis of large amounts of social media data: Twitter, VKontakte, LiveJournal, LiveInternet, YouTube, thousands of blogs, forums, online media. iLook stores an archive of over 3 billion messages, daily receipts - about 10 million messages per day.
The core of the system is a set of tools and technologies that allow solving a large-scale spectrum of modern tasks of the Online Big Data & Analytics class based on information provided in social media and publicly accessible digital data storages.

In addition to collecting and storing social media publications, the iLook platform performs statistical processing of incoming information and builds ratings by the number of comments (for news, blog posts and videos on YouTube) and by the number of retweets and hashtags for Russian-language Twitter.
A complete list of sources, as well as statistics on the number and dynamics of incoming messages is available on the
site .
Based on the platform, it is possible to create recommendation and information services, such as user ratings of films or books, and such large-scale ones as our Media Center iLook;)
Implemented functionality of the iLook Media Center
What do we offer to experience?
At the moment, using the Media Center API, a prototype of a mobile application has been created that implements the following functionality:
1. Reading thematic tapes:• reading RSS feeds of sites;
• connection of thematic streams based on search queries from social media (VKontakte, Facebook, LJ, Twitter, online media, etc.);
• a subscription to authors of social networks and blogs (VKontakte, Facebook, Twitter, LJ);
• simple and advanced modes of viewing feeds messages, view full text;
• Mark messages as read / unread;
• add a message to your favorites, for deferred reading;
• message sorting, filtering by read / unread.
2. Creating thematic tapes:• RSS based;
• based on the choice of rubrics;
• creating feeds by searching by source name or url;
• subscription to authors from LJ top;
• connection of personal streams from their social networks;
• based on full-text search queries with filtering by source;
• by searching for authors of social networks (without the need for authorization).
3. Management of thematic flows:• combining multiple information flows
• sorting by date of posting
• rename stream and edit search subscriptions
• design options
4. Active actions in social media• commenting and likes for Facebook
• retweets, appeals and add "to favorites" for Twitter
• sharing messages to any of 3 social networks
• Sending a message via e-mail through an e-mail client, GMail, Yandex-Mail or Mail.ru.
Access to the application is implemented both without registration (limited functionality), and with registration via social network accounts or e-mail. It is possible to attach to the application of several social accounts and login through any of them.
The post title, link to the source, time of publication, preview (if any), number of likes, reposts and comments (if any) are displayed in the feed, when you click on the announcement, the full text opens.
Since we were impatient to start testing the combat API as soon as possible, as a test bench we rendered an iPad version on the web. In the current situation, this turned out to be the quickest solution for us. Meanwhile, in parallel, we are already developing a fully functional web version of the Media Center and applications for iOS and Android platforms.
So let me introduce the test stand
of the iLook Media Center !
We look forward to the objective criticism, comments, comments and applications for access to the API!
