Last year, we
wrote about how distributed computing, conducted on computers of 600 thousand users, can create a miracle and in the foreseeable future, find a solution to many global problems of all mankind.
A year later, the capabilities of the platform have expanded, and now everyone who owns an Android-based smartphone can join this unique initiative!
By downloading the BOINC application, you can direct the computing power of your smartphone to solve a global problem. The essence of the application is that the main task is divided by specialists into millions of subtasks, which are distributed among devices connected to the program. After calculating one subtask, the smartphone sends the calculation results and accepts the next subtask.
Now in the world there are about one billion mobile devices that are running the Android OS. And this means that our total computing power will be several times greater than the performance of the most powerful supercomputers.

By default, the mobile version of the BOINC client starts automatically only if the smartphone or tablet is connected to a charger, the charge level is above 95 percent, and the connection to the Network is available via Wi-Fi. The client is compatible with mobile devices running Android OS version 2.3 and higher.
Currently, there are 6 projects in the application, among them Einstein @ Home (search for pulsars), Asteroids @ Home (analysis of asteroids) and FightAIDS @ Home (search for new effective methods of treating AIDS), which is part of the project of
World Community Grid , supervised by
IBM .
