Robovie will help you find a way out of the supermarket.
The Japanese from Advance Telecommunications Research Instituted (ATR) are working on a robot project that will help people who get lost in, say, huge supermarkets, people to get out of the crowd and get to the counter or exit they need.
Called Robovie, this robot is equipped with 16 cameras, 6 laser “search devices” and 9 radio frequency identification sensors (RFID, Radio Frequency Identification), which will allow you to simultaneously monitor 20 people. The robot is still under development. But, according to experts from ATR, this “guide” may appear in the shopping centers of Japan in the summer of this year.
