And MSI will have its rival eeePC

MSI plans to launch low-cost notebooks soon. The manufacturer, for obvious reasons, does not want to miss the moment to earn money in the new market of “mobile Internet devices”, like many others.

The MSI laptop will be equipped with a 10-inch display and will be built based on the Intel platform (945GSE chipset and Diamondville processor). According to MSI's chairman of the board, Joseph Hsu, the 10-inch display will allow their product to have a profitable advantage over the eeePC.

MSI plans to show a prototype of its new laptop already at CeBIT 2008, which starts in early March. But sales of the device will begin a little later (in July or August). Since everything rests on Diamondville, the date of the announcement of which Intel has not yet been appointed.

There is a suspicion that while MSI will be waiting for Diamondville to come out, the ASUS eeePC will already get larger displays and the only advantage of the unnamed MSI product will disappear.
