While foreign companies are struggling to create search engines capable of working with images, programmer Alexey Lagutin challenged competitors by developing and launching a test service that allows people to search for images of people using the sample. The heart of the service is the original IMAGIUM graphic object recognition technology, which was created using the experience of physicists working with elementary particles. Of particular difficulty here is the calculation of geometric distortions of objects in the images. About two million images have been indexed so far, but in the future, this unusual web resource is expected to expand.


Search for images on the web and on the website help two index - external and internal.

The external index is based on the photographs contained in the questionnaires and announcements about acquaintances placed in the Russian Internet, and currently takes into account more than 2 million similar images. The choice of this source of video data is due to the large number of similar objects and their plot and visual proximity to each other. In short, this is an example of a very complex task of computer comparison and search for photos :)
