About how the government hears society, or public discussion of the "Anti-piracy law"

It is strange that no one wrote a post about this. Or maybe I did not find ...

Yesterday, September 19, a public discussion of the “Anti-Piracy Law” took place with the participation of an expert council reviewing a well-known petition on the ROI website. The State was represented by the Minister for Relations with the Open Government, Mikhail Abyzov, as well as the Minister of Culture, Vladimir Medinsky. Also, albeit with a squeak, they listened to a representative of the public petition Artem Kozlyuk, who was also present in the hall.

I will not add any comments. See for yourself.

For those who are too lazy to watch - I will make a brief summary:

1. There was very little time left for discussion. In the video, trimming is about 25 minutes, but de facto the “hearings” lasted just over an hour and a half.

2. ~ 90% of the time ministers, their assistants and representatives of the right holders spoke on this topic. They spoke more emotionally than rationally. There were a lot of stamps and convictions in their speech. The dialogue clearly did not work, it turned out basically a monologue.

3. Thanks to Artyom for the fact that he was able to declare himself in time, which contributed to the announcement of the arguments that were set forth in the petition itself. Of course, you can see that I was worried (not every day both ministers scold and interrupt you), but he showed all the main points. I can subjectively say that the ministers reacted to all these proposals with undisguised irony.
