Linus Torvalds asked to insert a backdoor into the kernel
At the Linuxcon conference (Linuxcon) in New Orleans, Linus Torvalds joined the kernel developers in response to a flurry of questions about Linux development. One of the questions asked to him was whether a government agency had ever asked him to insert a backdoor into Linux. Torvalds answered "no", while nodding affirmatively, which caused the audience to laugh.
Torvalds also admitted that he had a full life outside of Linux, but he could not imagine his life without him.
- I do not see any project on the horizon that would interest me more, - said Torvalds. - I can not imagine how I would fill the void in my life without Linux.
