New Brief: Samsung announced the start of mass production of new 4-gigabit DDR4 memory

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of serial production of new DDR4 memory, which is designed for corporate servers operating in advanced data centers.

The use of high-speed DRAM chips in the work of next-generation corporate servers significantly improves system performance and reduces energy consumption. By applying DDR4 memory module technology at an early stage, OEMs can minimize operating costs and significantly increase productivity, thus ensuring a faster return on investment.

The creation of a 4-gigabit DRAM-memory chip was the next stage in the development of Samsung in this niche since the announcement of 50-nm class 2-gigabit DDR3 memory in 2008. The new DRAM-memory has become much faster: the data transfer rate is 2667 Mbit / s, which is a quarter greater than the capabilities of the DDR3 modules, which also use 20-nm class chips. At the same time, the power consumption of the chip is reduced by more than 30%.

Having created the world's most productive and smallest 4-gigabit DRAM memory chip in the world on the basis of the 20-nm DRAM module, Samsung Electronics now has the industry’s largest line of solutions for use in a wide variety of products, starting with corporate servers and ending with mobile devices. This will provide customers around the world with a wide range of advanced, environmentally friendly memory solutions that are energy efficient and high-performance.
