At SIGGRAPH ASIA 2013 (Engl.), Dedicated to computer graphics and interactive technologies, the development of 3 – Sweep is presented, which allows you to get a three-dimensional object with a texture in just one photo. Although we are talking about objects that are sets of primitives and their extensions along a certain path, but the speed and simplicity of work is impressive! Also, what could be behind the object, after it was cut from the photo, is evaluated and supplemented, although we have already seen a similar tool from Adobe. All the work of extracting a 3D object from a photo looks extremely simple, it is the markup of the photo and the indication of extended sections of the objects. The grid of the resulting object is not shown, but it is clear that there is nothing special to finish in it, except for cases of incorrect recognition, they also exist in the demonstration. As can be judged by the roller, the proposed approach does not address issues with subtracting algorithms from the final texture of the source (s) of light and building the correct cubic map for reflective surfaces, but against the backdrop of the simplicity of creating a model, these are trifles.
PS: The moped is not mine (but I did not find any mention in Habré).
