I read Cooper "The mental hospital in the hands of patients" and I can’t get rid of the idea that Linux (and my Ubuntu in particular) is a real dancing bear =). That is, the product is designed for apologists, programmers and fans. Those who are more important to understand how it works and have absolute control over the system to the detriment of simplicity and “goal-oriented”.
It becomes clear why Linux will never become a mass competitor for Windows, despite all the obvious shortcomings of the latter.
