Dear IT managers of Russia!

What is needed to create a creative environment? IT environment, of course. It is necessary to create the most comfortable conditions for living and working in one place - at least. The task is maximum: to saturate the space with multicultural characters, to ensure research, education, international integration.
We are building just such a space - Russia's first IT city and Innopolis University. Focus on information technologies in a broad sense and research, incl. interdisciplinary: robotics, information security, big data, quantum computing, telecommunications, industry, etc.

What we already have:

Political will

In Russia, this factor is still related to the key ones. The project is implemented under the patronage of the Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov, and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov

A place

Why actually Tatarstan ? Why not the Perm region, for example? Tatarstan has unique prerequisites: a stunning natural-climatic landscape in the Upper-Uslonsky district, set aside for construction. Nearby already operating ski complex, golf club, sports facilities of the Universiade. Tatarstan is a really innovative region, the share of the ICT industry in the GRP is 3.15%, the share of innovative products in the total production is 16% (more than the average for Russia). There is no need to talk about the preferences that the business gives to the SEZ.

Financing

The infrastructure of the city, including the University buildings, is federal investment. All research, residential, recreational infrastructure has already passed the design stage and is at the implementation stage.

Implementation of the University project, its opexes and caps on the balance of private investors. The most advanced IT business already supports us, participates in writing curricula. We are in ongoing negotiations to find new investors.

Strategic partner

The project is being implemented jointly with leading foreign universities. This is a fundamentally new approach for Russia. CMU was chosen as a partner for the first year, the first 15 masters are already studying in Pittsburgh and are preparing to apply their knowledge in Innopolis. What gives such a partnership? - Compliance with international academic standards (they write our curricula) and, of course, a diploma of international level.

Rector

University Innopolis headed by Alexander Tormasov. A man of science and practice, known as the developer of the software industry "Virtualization of Operating Systems", the author of 100 registered patents, 150 applications for patents and the author of more than 160 publications. The adherent of education, based solely on research.

About future:

The prospective number of students at Innopolis University is 5,000.
Now this area attracts about 1000 applicants throughout the country.
Demand must be created, and we brought a unique STEM-Robotics product for schoolchildren to Russia. The program designed for high school students, contains courses in mathematics, physics, English (language of instruction at the University Innopolis) and, of course, robotics.
Already in October , the first Kazan schoolchildren will have the opportunity to evaluate STEM. Test and launch STEM centers throughout Russia.
