Today, scrolling through the mailing list, I came across a message in which Pocket reported on the release of offline applications.
As a long-time user of this service, I immediately followed the link that led to the ... Chrome Web Store (aka "Chrome Web Store").
It seems that Google in the process of moving its Chrome OS decided to go on the other hand, namely, with its gradual introduction into foreign axes. Here is such an item appeared in the store:

After installing such an application in the Windows taskbar (I think, as the Mac dock), as well as the following icon appears on the desktop:

')
When you click it, a panel opens containing all the application shortcuts in Chrome.

At the moment, there are not so many desktop applications, but I am sure that their number will grow rapidly. Often used by me - Google Keep, Pocket and Wunderlist. Their peculiarity is that when they expand to full screen, they hide the Windows taskbar. And yes, they do work offline.
Also on the list is the browser equivalent of Remote Desktop. It has not yet been possible to test it, but the idea itself is already interesting.
The downside, in my opinion, is that in the “application panel” Google it is impossible to separate the actual offline applications and simple links to sites (which are proudly referred to as applications in the store). Of course, I understand that it is necessary to promote the browser in this way, but, nevertheless, it would be better if there was an opportunity to render them separately.
In general, I liked this approach - I love it when each application has its own window, not reminiscent of the browser.
We are waiting for the new developers to offer us.
PS Habrastorage for some reason, I do not want to ship anything now. I will try to transfer the images there later.
