HDMI Forum Inc. today
announced the release of the official specifications of the standard HDMI 2.0. The latest version of HDMI supports data transfer at speeds up to 18 Gbps, which is enough for broadcasting 4K UHD video (3840 × 2160) with a frame rate of 50/60 frames per second.

- Dynamic synchronization of video and audio track.
- CEC extensions for advanced control and transmission of commands to electronic devices from a single point of control.
Licensing of a new format for manufacturers will soon begin via the HDMI Licensing, LLC agent.
