On more or less authoritative resources, especially on IT-related topics, the so-called “holivars”, as a rule, are not approved by the inhabitants of the resources. It is believed that this kind of discussion is senseless, because "there are no comrades for the taste and color." But how pleasant it is sometimes to discuss the merits of your beloved Google, along the way presenting in an unflattering light, for example, Yandex? Apple vs. PC, Opera vs. Firefox, Linux vs. Windows - supporters of each of the products are ready to prove their advantages with foaming at the mouth and with pleasure to point out the shortcomings of the “alien”.
Well, is it a sin to refuse your users to satisfy their desires, yes?
We build the functionality as follows:
The user who wished to enter into a heated discussion leaves an application in the functional dialogue. As the counter-bid from the opponent arrives, the holywar begins! One of the opponents expresses his opinion, the other answers, after which, for a certain time (12 hours, for example), the other users vote for posts objectively and impartially, assessing the quality of the arguments and the correctness of the presentation. At the end of the term votes are counted, the winner of the round is announced. Further, we repeat everything from the beginning. At the end of a holivar, limited to a certain number of rounds, we count the number of victories won by both parties and award, respectively, a victory, which is reflected in the user profile. Well, something like a medal. After that, you can open commenting on the holivar process by other users.
Something like that.
I would be happy both positive and negative, but reasonable comments.
