Attraction of unprecedented generosity from the University of Eastern Finland

I want to share with the community a brief newsletter that came to the newsletter: my alma mater, the University of Eastern Finland, announces a contest for 99 postgraduate positions , of which 50 directly give to the natural science department (where besides IT there are also physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology).

In my memory, such an abundance of places was never. And the unprecedented generosity lies in the fact that a scholarship in the area of ​​2-2.5 thousand euros has already been allocated for each place for four years of study, so if someone wants to work in science in comfortable conditions, it is difficult to desire more.

Now for the bad: for some reason, the competition was announced just now, and it will last only a month, that is, the latest documents must reach the destination before the end of September. Apparently, they are afraid to drown in the papers :)

On the other hand, no particularly complicated documents are required: a CV, a list of publications, a draft and a research plan, an informal motivational letter, a copy of a master’s degree (Russian specialists should be taken, but can be specified just in case) and a completed questionnaire. So it will only have to tinker with the project (what to research) and the plan (how exactly the research will be conducted). But this is not a very big price for the opportunity, I think.
