Twitter opens its communication platform

In the newly created Twitter technology blog Twitter, the very first message says that a Ruby messaging server written in Twitter will be released to Twitter. The platform is called Starling and it is published under a free license.

Independent developers now have the right to modify the platform and adapt it for their own needs, for example, for large web applications. The author of the system is the programmer Blaine Cook .

The system is reliable, fast and uses the standard memcached protocol. According to the developers, this is generally the most stable link of twitter. When other elements of the system are turned off, Starling always continues to work.
