Tesla Motors outperformed Cadillac, Porsche and Chrysler by number of sales in California

In June of this year, Tesla Model S electric car surpassed Buick, Lincoln, Porsche, Volvo and Cadillac cars in California. This was not a simple surge in sales: statistics speaks of car registrations throughout the year.

All of the above brands produce expensive luxury cars. Interestingly, Tesla also bypassed Chrysler, Fiat and Mitsubishi by the number of registrations. In particular, in the Chrysler model range there are also relatively low-cost cars.

Tesla Motors CEO Ilon Mask announced plans to occupy a niche not only elite, but also more affordable cars. Mask's positive attitude and the growth of Model S sales have affected the price of the company's shares: it has increased to 164 dollars per share.

Without a doubt, other car manufacturers have paid attention to the success of Tesla Motors. For example, GM CEO recently admitted that Tesla is a “threat” to his company.

Studies have shown that Tesla Model S is popular not only because of its environmental friendliness, but also because of other advanced technological solutions. The previous cars of the Model S buyers were completely different models - from the Mercedes-Benz E-class and Toyota Prius to the Honda Odyssey.

Unfortunately, Tesla Motors achieved such significant success only in California. In other states and countries, the number of sales of Model S is currently not impressive.
