Query statistics should be trusted with caution

If you work in an SEO office and evaluate the complexity of promotion, using query statistics like wordstat , then most likely you are deceiving your client and, possibly, yourself. In the case of popular queries, it becomes obvious that the main part of the search for them is done by the SEO firms themselves .

As an example, I will cite a fairly competitive and close to us, habrovtsami, in the spirit of the request "site creation". As I understand it, according to him, such an active “king of the hill” goes, that I am not advertising anyone now. So, look at his statistics . The left column does not lead to any special thoughts, and on the right, in related, allegedly, searches, the “auditing firm”, “registration of foreign citizens” and other “accounting services” persist. “ Make a website ” is somehow connected with eurolining and furniture panels.

The answer, however, is obvious - a search in the same Yandex domain name for the winners of the race for such requests immediately gives head to the offices involved in the production and promotion of sites. They promoted their clients, daily monitoring their position in issuing, they also promoted themselves, controlling positions from the same computers - that’s the “connectedness” of requests. One check search per day - 365 extra hits per year. Multiply this by the number of competitors and the actual frequency of checks, add initiative and concern to your client, and it will become clear to you how much the statistics are littered.

It may be quite adequate to assess the complexity of your work with such statistics, but the client has nothing to promise: it’s difficult to understand how many of the queries on the topics you need are SEO junk, and how many real target visitors, not competitors (and not you same themselves), scouring around.
