One of the largest players in the Russian investment market, the REGION Group of Companies announces the official completion of the organization of a corporate IP telephony system based on the 3CX Phone System software.

Initially, in the "REGION" used traditional office PBX. The IT department was tasked with uniting offices and branches into a single corporate telephone network, ensuring the operational connection of additional subscribers and expanding the range of services provided. It was decided to use modern VoIP technology. Updating existing PBXs to IP-enabled versions has proven to be impractical because of the high costs and the constant need for expansion to connect physical ports for new subscribers.
“It was then that we paid attention to the decision from 3CX, which at a cost turned out to be comparable to the next upgrade of used PBXs, even taking into account the purchase of new IP phones, and made it possible to achieve all of the goals,” Sergey REGION Group Director of Companies commented on the decision. Zotov.
The IT department and the project integrator, ICE Partners, was tasked with making a smooth transition to a software PBX, with primary preservation of the performance of existing analog PBXs, with three hundred and fifty active subscribers. At the first stage, an E1 channel was established between the existing PBX in the central office and 3CX. As a result, at first, subscribers of the electronic station and users of VoIP-telephony used city telephone communication channels together, while the numbering of internal subscribers was fully preserved. At the same time, subscribers of remote offices and branches in other cities were connected. For the REGION Group, a 3CX license was chosen for 64 lines, which completely covered the needs of the office, including 2 E1 streams with 30 channels each.
The hardware base for the project was the IP phones
Grandstream GXP1400 ,
Yealink SIP-T38G and
Welltech WP589 wireless Wi-Fi handsets, except this part of the staff preferred 3CX mobile apps for Android and iOS. All stages of the transition, including the installation and configuration of new devices, prescribing subscribers, rules and regulation of other parameters took 25 working days. Also, ICE Partners experts continue to provide the REGION Group with consulting services on how to set up the system and connect remote subscribers as part of a one-year technical support contract.
