Jevix 0.9.5

A new version of Jevix has been published - 0.9.5.



The main difference of the new version is that from now on Jevix can be used as a means for comprehensive control and conversion of text data of large Internet projects with “User-Generated” material.

Now Jevix can not only apply typography rules, unify HTML / XML markup, but also control the list of valid tags with the ability to define a list of valid attributes for each tag separately. It also provides the ability to prevent possible XSS attacks hidden in the HTML code .







What is Jevix and what is it not?



I have long wanted to clarify this issue, to tell why Jevix was invented and what is its place among other similar projects. So:

• Jevix is ​​a powerful and easy-to-use tool for working as part of large Internet projects that provide a wide audience with access to text materials that are viewed or edited by an unlimited circle of users.
• Jevix is ​​a means to apply the rules of typing (typography) texts
• Jevix is ​​a tool to combat XSS attacks hidden in HTML code.
• Jevix is ​​a project that is constantly evolving and getting better.
• Jevix is ​​fully functional when working with both plain text and HTML documents
• Jevix is ​​not a panacea for aesthetes. The project has never been positioned as a means of satisfying people, the main life purpose of which, by virtue of modern tendencies, lies in the thoroughly correct design of the materials of their mental labor, rather than filling these same materials with any meaning interesting to others.
• Jevix does not try to replace any elements of the text that arbitrarily far resemble typography to their true equivalents: the practice of operation as part of real projects has shown that this can lead to absurdity. However, the rules for applying typography will be improved from version to version.
• Jevix is ​​not an example of a high performance engine. Unfortunately, the project was started for more modest tasks than those that he is solving now. However, for all the operation of the project no complaints about the performance have been reported. the developer has changed, the alpha version is already in debugging.
