The State Duma Committee on Civil, Criminal, Arbitration and Procedural Legislation will consider a petition against the anti-piracy law, which gained 100 thousand votes. It is reported by "Interfax" with reference to the head of the committee, Pavel Krasheninnikov.

According to the procedure, the petition must first go through an expert working group headed by the Minister for Open Government Mikhail Abyzov. The group also includes Senator Ruslan Gattarov, State Duma Deputy Chairman Sergei Zheleznyak, Deputy Robert Schlegel and other officials and public figures. The petition went to the experts on August 10, the decisions on it were no longer reported.

Also, according to ITAR-TASS, Krasheninnikov said that the expectations of thousands of complaints under the new law were not met. According to him, the Moscow City Court received 19 appeals, eight of which were rejected.
The petition on the Russian Public Initiative website, which calls to repeal or amend the anti-piracy law, was launched on July 4. A little more than a month, she scored 100 thousand votes needed for consideration in the State Duma. Later, the Pirate Party, which supported the petition, and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation agreed to jointly oppose the law, in particular, to help review the petition in parliament.
The anti-piracy law provides for a procedure for pre-trial blocking of sites that refuse to remove pirated films at the request of the copyright holder. For this, the latter must apply to the Moscow City Court for preliminary security measures. Within 15 days after the appeal, the copyright holder must file a lawsuit, otherwise the lock will be lifted. Norma provoked harsh criticism from a number of large Internet companies, who felt that its position threatened the development of Runet. The law began to operate on August 1.
