European politicians have launched a campaign in favor of file sharing.

" Greens EFA " - an association of two political parties, which currently has 42 seats in the European Parliament, launched a campaign in the campaign of file sharing, called “I Wouldn't Steal” (I'm not going to steal). Their goal is to respond to anti-piracy propaganda working from the entertainment industry, as well as in support of people downloading and sharing.

The information promoted by the party is clear: “When you buy a film, the largest media campaigns make you watch their propaganda. The goal, which is to convince people that downloading movies is pickpocketing, car theft and shoplifting. What is really wrong is that copying is fundamentally different from theft. ”

Greens EFA claims that the entertainment industry exploits artists and sells propaganda; Greens EFA wants to draw people's attention to this. Of course, we cannot disagree - and it would be great to see how these politicians, approved in parliament, will try to make file sharing legal. As they say: “The attempts of the media industry to offer a viable alternative have failed, and their attempts to equate file transfer to theft also fail. Unfortunately, their forces are directed in the wrong direction - lobbying to level the exchange with a criminal offense, they turn consumers into criminals ”

In collaboration with RåFILM, the parties made a short clip for the campaign, which, according to their will, is available on The Pirate Bay via BitTorrent (you can watch online here ). This undertaking shows that things are really starting to change, politicians are no longer afraid to collaborate with BitTorrent sites like The Pirate Bay, they are not afraid to bravely advocate for the rights of people to share culture.

Brokep from The Pirate Bay, of course, pleased with the campaign and told TorrentFreak: “I like it when there are smart people who understand how the world works, and I’m going to support them with what I can.”

Let's hope the entertainment industry will pay a lot of attention to this.
