A couple of months ago we talked about the competition of unusual devices held among the developers of Opera Software, and today the new fascination with Norwegian programmers is on the agenda: several enthusiasts are building a real gaming machine, with Opera as the main software. The idea is simple: the familiar “box” (the prototype for which was the “Galaga” slot machine from Midway Games) will be equipped with a personal computer with the Opera browser installed, and numerous opera widgets will be in the role of gaming applications. While some project participants are “sharpening” the software, others are enthusiastically collecting the case of the future exclusive gaming machine, as narrated by photo reports from the scene , regularly published by our old acquaintance Alexander Feldgendler. The timing of the readiness of a kind of entertainment center has not yet been announced, but one thing is certain to say: according to a good tradition, the use of this machine will be free, like most software products of Opera Software. The main thing is that later the development team of all of our favorite browsers is not too carried away by the gameplay, so as not to be distracted from the main work.
