Computer Museum: A Dream Idea

For a long time I have such an idea.
Collect a lot of old computer and computer computing hardware (Soviet and foreign), repair, wash, gather information on them, and, actually, make a museum.
Main feature - everything works and with maximum access for visitors. Those. it will be possible to program on some old Macintosh, count on the Soviet calculator or play with a friend on the Dendy prefix :-) You can also collect old computer books.

Well, you can make a separate room in which to hold various events, such as a championship for some ancient computer toy or a conference on demo, intro, etc.

Who thinks about that? Is it possible, at what investments? The main question in the room, as I understand it ... Will it end up being profitable or at least self-sustaining? Is it possible to count on at least a little help from the authorities (museum, after all)?

While the plan has not been elaborated in detail and I don’t intend to implement the idea, I’m just slowly collecting computer junk.
