Good time of day.
Like many clients of ER-Telecom (“DOM.RU”), I received a router when connected. I got NetGear WNR612v2 (there is a
review in Habré). The router came with a proprietary firmware from the provider. Nothing but login / password can not be changed and configured.
Immediately, I changed the firmware to my native NetGear (there are manuals on the Internet, for example,
here ). Native NetGear firmware provides quite a lot of configuration options, but all the same, Wi-Fi periodically falls off.
There are no other alternatives, more precisely, it was not until July 28, 2013. On this day, in the openwrt trunks, someone juhosg (thank you very much) made a number of commits No. 377575-37577, thereby adding NetGear WNR612v2 to the list of supported openwrt devices.
Having found the OpenWRT build instructions on the Internet (
here and
here ), I compiled a minimal firmware with a graphic LuCI interest for the device. Download it
here (dropbox). You need to flash it as in the instructions for changing the firmware from "DOM.RU" to the native one (see
here ).
Here really is a “sea” of settings that will allow you to make something more out of a router for housewives. On the quality of communication, while I can not say anything (I asked for half an hour). But Speedtest shows speeds close to those claimed by the provider (previously there was no such thing).

PPPoE rises, DHCP is distributed. Wi-Fi is working.

As you can see from the screenshot, we still have a memory reserve.
Thank you all for your attention.
