Holho: pseudo-holographic display for smartphones and tablets

Many of us are waiting for the emergence of technologies that, finally, will allow the use of holography as shown in Star Wars and a bunch of other NF films. In general, for many years, some prototypes, new technologies, etc. have appeared, but all this disappears from the information field even in the stage of preparation for implementation. But on Kickstarter, a new project has emerged that may be able to satisfy the craving for holographic images. The device, called Holho, allows you to create pseudo-holographic images based on images from smartphones and tablets.

True, this is still not the kind of holography that “hangs” in the air, without visible displays, special surfaces or anything else. But still, the project is quite interesting. Holho pyramidal structure includes reflective surfaces that create volumetric images. A vivid example of this can be a preview image.

For Holho there is also its own application that allows you to create custom images. There is, however, one condition for such images - the background must be black.

Well, as a working tool Holho can hardly be used (although, for presentations of various kinds of architectural projects, mechanical parts and other things - why not?). But still ahead, and perhaps a new project that allows you to create advanced holograms right in the air, will appear on the media pages in a couple of weeks / months.

The cost of the gadget is small. So, the standard Holho Pyramid for a 10-inch tablet costs $ 55. The kit includes the application and video from the developers.
