Opera development tools: what awaits us

Opera browser is often blamed for the lack of built-in web development tools. It seems that this minus should soon disappear from the list of things that are absent in Opera. Chris Mills in the OperaWatch blog decided to lift the veil of secrets over the development of developer tools in Opera. According to him, in the summer release of the public beta of Opera-9.5 browser, a large number of development tools will be included, including such components:

- DOM and CSS debugger that allows you to view the code and make changes on the fly;
- JavaScript viewer;
- a specialized proxy server that will allow you to debug code on mobile devices or game consoles.

The latter, perhaps, is one of the most interesting components of development tools, and its appearance once again illustrates the desire of Opera Software to provide the user with the same Internet experience regardless of the device on which Opera browser is used.

Also, Chris, warning of possible critical comments, explains that the creation of such complex software tools is not an easy task and one should not expect that absolutely all new features will appear in Opera at the same time. But he assures that work on web development tools is in full swing, and this topic is one of the top priorities facing the company's employees.
