This weekend in Finland held the legendary computer festival Assembly 2013 . During AssemblyTV's 76-hour online broadcast, we were able to watch one of the largest computer festivals in the world, which is attended by more than 5,000 participants annually, and also more than 200 volunteers work on its organization.
Assemble this event for gamers, demos, and anyone interested in digital culture.
Broadcast is open to the entire Internet. With its help, we can follow the events in Hartwall Areena live, virtually attend interesting seminars, watch contests for the best demo and intro, watch graphic and music contests, participate in demos discussion in the StudioTV studio with famous personalities of the demos, watch interviews with sponsors and live concerts. ')
The main event of the Assembly traditionally are contests with a demonstration of visual and audio effects that are performed / calculated / reproduced by specially written programs in real time.
I am glad to present you some demos from this year's nominees:
1k - intro
Demos with a maximum size of up to 1 kilobyte (!) Are participating.
I also recommend that you familiarize yourself with the works from the categories: Gamedev | Short film | Real wild demo | Oldskool demo From my point of view, "Short film" and "Real wild" compo this year, really delivered.
And Dekadence, as usual, presented a good demo for Amiga. Although, I must say that it was the only normal demo in the category “Oldskool demo” and this is, in general, sad.
Be sure to download the video (or the demo itself) from the assembly site and look at the large monitor. The flash player, even in 720p mode, unfortunately does not convey the clarity of the demos that actually exist.
By the way, whoever was already at the Assembly and remembers that atmosphere, I highly recommend playing KAAL - assembly demo-party simulator . Simulator trip to the demo party :)
The next important event of the demoscene is the Chaos Constuction in St. Petersburg on August 10-11.
