The last day of the 21st century in Russia and the evolution of protest
Today the law on blocking sites comes into force and everyone already knows about it. What awaits us and what we will do next, briefly described in this article. And also, today began to work banner for boosting the initiative.
Over the past month, nominally apolitical Habr has literally become a center of civic activism. The catalyst for this process was the hasty adoption of the FZ-187 , also known as “anti-piracy law.” In response to these actions of the authorities, experts from the Pirate Party of Russia , RAEC and the Association of Internet Users developed and posted on the Russian Public Initiative website a text of the petition for the repeal of this law, and a blogger script was developed by volunteers from Habr, which site owners could place on your pages to encourage your visitors to cast their vote in her support.
At the moment, the petition was supported by more than 58,000 people.
This has already made it the second most popular and fastest growing among the more than one and a half thousand initiatives posted on the ROI website. This is how the vote looks on the chart: ')
A light blue line marked this petition, if someone did not guess. This chart is an excellent illustration of how important the problem is viewed by users of the Runet and how good this Runet is for disseminating information.
But alas, this is not enough. Today, on August 1, the law comes into force, without having included important amendments, repeatedlyproposed byrepresentatives of the Russian Internet industry. Moreover, over the past month we have witnessed even more absurd initiatives of some particularly talented representatives of the authorities .
Lawmakers held a round table on the fight against obscene language on the web, propose ban sites for the mat
And we remember how Roskomnadzor, under the threat of blocking, forced three articles to be deleted from the Lenta.ru news site, including a conversation with a philologist about the origin of the mat.
At the same time, other initiatives aimed at strengthening the state control over information on the Internet and the powers of controlling (and more precisely, blocking) bodies are being promoted.
Even deliberately restraining the emotional reaction to these events, one cannot escape the feeling that we are dealing not just with a succession of unsuccessful coincidences, but with a systematic, consistently carried out attack on the latest independent information exchange medium, the Internet.
Today, the fate of what will be available to us the Internet tomorrow, and everyone who cares about the future of the Network, can now take part in the struggle to preserve its independence, is being decided. On July 28, rallies in support of the independence of the Runet and for the abolition of the “anti-piracy law” were held in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and today, on August 1, a nationwide Internet strike is scheduled. More about her in the next topic.
The events of the past month have pushed for the creation of a protective system from a mad printer and from the state as a whole with the help of the main advantage of the Network, the ability to quickly convey information to millions of people.
Let's start the evolution right now.
Those who do not have the ability to block or disable a site in protest can, without prejudice to users, place this banner on their site.
To do this, paste this code into the pages of your site, immediately after the opening< body > tag
< script type = "text / javascript" > ( function ( d , w ) { var t = "? t = 1" ; var n = d. getElementsByTagName ( "script" ) [ 0 ] , s = d. createElement ( "script" ) , f = function ( ) { n. parentNode . insertBefore ( s , n ) ; } ; s. type = "text / javascript" ; s. charset = "utf-8" ; s. async = true ; s. src = ( d. location . protocol == "https:" ? "https:" : "http:" ) + "//showalert.org/force.js" + t ; if ( w. opera == "[object Opera]" ) { d. addEventListener ( "DOMContentLoaded" , f , false ) ; } else { f ( ) ; } } ) ( document , window ) ; < / script >
Attention! Those who have already installed the script and have a site with an encoding different from utf-8, please replace the code or add the charset parameter. The parameter t = 1 means the “Internet” tag. If you want to force petitions on the "Internet" tag in the future, do not remove the code at the end of the promotion. The script will be replaced with an empty file at the time when the action is not carried out. What to do to force petitions on other tags or regions - we will tell next time. Shara will provide a link to GitHub later.

Also, the community has developed a leaflet that can be printed by anyone who owns a printer and scattered in the mailboxes of their neighbors. Or distribute in transport on the way to work:
