August 1 - All-Russian Internet Strike (#Law Against Internet)
On August 1, 187-FZ entered into force.
Better known to the general public under various epithets: “anti-piracy”, “law on arbitrary blocking”, “Russian SOPA”.
Or simply - the law against the Internet .
On Habré, this law has already been discussed more than once, as the State Duma considered it with lightning speed, was approved by the Federation Council and inevitably signed by the president.
There was a collectively developed one of the protest locking options for its resources using a script stub , banners were offered and posted to support the petition to cancel the 187-FZ , information plug-ins and applications were developed, and other options for further actions were developed.
Probably you heard about offline actions on July 28, which took place all over Russia, from Moscow to Khabarovsk under the slogan “For Free Internet” , some of you participated in them.
Today has come the day of a massive statement of his position already online, on the territory for which the battle is fought. Another attack on the Internet has been made. You can remain silent and philosophically observe the development of events. But indifference, as is known, kills. Then they will come for you .
So, the day of the All-Russian Internet strike has come.

This protest does not have a single form and, in principle, cannot be - each Internet resource is unique, tied to certain interaction schemes, legal and informal relationships. Therefore, despite the ideal strike method, when the internet resource is completely shut down for a day, with the placement of one or another stub, other forms of online protest are quite acceptable: installing the above-mentioned script stubs, placing information banners, notifying members of their social groups , posting, etc.
Here are examples of independent stubs that literally caught my eye now: tritium , toby3d , snk-games , twitnow , colorwebdesigner , etc.
So take as a basis any design / script / banner you like and go ahead for virtual barricades!
