MakeCloud: what's new
We carried out a number of updates to the IaaS platform in the Make Cloud service, introduced new features and fixed bugs.
What we did:
• Reduced the time to create a virtual machine on * nix OS to a minute and to 5 minutes on MS Windows Server using the implementation of advanced caching and the use of copy-on-write technology.
• Implemented flexible routing configuration. The configuration is performed by selecting classless routes for the subnet, then the dhcp server receives an IP address and along with it registers the routes. Routing can be prescribed both when creating a subnet and when editing an existing address. Updating of addresses occurs every 2-3 minutes.
• Implemented the ability to transfer a virtual machine “to hot” between subnets by changing the settings in the server network editing form.
• Installed a new version of the distributed file system, which allows to increase the speed of work and backup. At the same time, the new version of the cluster file system allowed us to correct errors that in some cases could lead to VM hanging.
• Updated the base OS and virtualization system.
