Unusual monitors from NEC and Alienware
NEC and Alienware have presented unusual monitors that may appeal to gamers enthusiasts. Strange, but the new CRVD-42DWX + (as NEC dubbed its product) and the Alienware Curve screen shown at CES 2008 look like two drops of water.
So, made using LED-projectors and NEC CRVD-42DWX + and Alienware Curve have the same dimensions, equal to two ordinary widescreen 19-inch monitors. The resolution of these “monsters” is 2880 × 900 pixels, the contrast is 10,000: 1, and the response time is 0.02 ms.
NEC has already said that its monitor, although similar to the Alienware Curve, was made by a completely different manufacturer (which is not reported). It turns out that NEC was late with the announcement of the display for just a couple of days. All have already admired shown at CES 2008 Alienware.
It is not known when new products are planned to enter the market and what their price will be. But the competition is already there.
