The whole world of domains in your SMS from REG.RU

Technology does not stand still, but the Internet is still not available in all parts of the world. In the summer (hiking, cottages and vacations) this can be a serious problem.
REG.RU is the first among the domain registrars of Russia to provide a comprehensive system of SMS-services, allowing it to be more “mobile” in every sense of the word and carry out the usual actions in the most convenient and safe way.

Services developed by the registrar can be divided into three groups:
1. SMS services
2. SMS notifications
3. SMS confirmations.

The first group of "SMS-services" consists of two services with the names of SMS-Whois and SMS-REG.
SMS-Whois allows you to get Whois information as a specific domain name in a specific zone (available for 10 zones: ., .RU, .SU, .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, .MOBI, .TV ), and check the domain name immediately in 9 zones (.RU, .SU, .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, .MOBI, .TV.). In the first case, you should specify the domain of the form yourdomain.com, in the second - yourdomain. If you need to check several domains, you will have to send several SMS messages.
The service is available to all Russian mobile operators and, in order to use it, you need to send an SMS to the number +7 903 580 1111.

SMS is sent to the same number for online domain registration - the SMS-REG service. Unlike the previous one, this service is available only for REG.RU clients. The SMS-REG service needs to be activated from the Personal Account on the company's website, specifying the mobile device number from which the domain (s) will be registered using an SMS like r yourdomain.com. Now you can register domains without having to connect to the Internet. Payment for registration is debited automatically from a personal account, so it must be a sufficient amount of money.

“SMS-notifications” are available exclusively for Russian telecom operators and include four complementary services:
1. About reaching the balance threshold - specifying a certain “threshold” amount on your personal account when activating your phone number, in the future the user will receive an SMS reminder about the need to replenish the balance. In addition, the balance can be found by sending “bal” or “balance” to the same number +7 903 580 11 11.
2. On the renewal of domains - 5 days before the expiration of the registration of domain names that are on the REG.RU client’s personal account, an SMS reminder will be sent to him indicating the number of such domains.
3. On the extension of other services - similarly to the previous item, 5 days before the expiration of the service validity period (hosting, VPS, Dedicated) an SMS is sent to the user.
4. About the expiration of the SSL certificate - in this case, the SMS reminder arrives 14 days before the expiration date.
It is worth noting that all of the listed services are connected and provided free of charge.

“SMS confirmations” can also be called the SMS-security system from REG.RU.
For example, an updated login system to your Personal Account, when you need to enter a unique code received via SMS, into the special “Confirmation Code” form on REG.RU website, eliminates the risk of accidental or intentional hacking of your account.
Registrar's retail clients, who are domain administrators in .RU / .SU / . zones, can use the DNS server change service on the domain name, which will save the domain name from malicious actions (domain loss, spam and others). The scheme is the same: in the SMS, a unique code comes to the phone number indicated when the service is activated, which should be entered in the “Confirmation code” form.
Partners of REG.RU can use the SMS confirmation system to transfer the domain to another account in the safest possible manner, using the same scheme (a unique code in the SMS and a special form in which it should be entered).

Try it and see for yourself - activate the mobile phone number on the SMS services page in your Personal Account on REG.RU.
