SanDisk has released a flash drive that can share files with other devices without a physical connection and without connecting to the Internet, Mashable writes .

Once you connect SanDisk Connect to your device (you can connect up to eight), through it you can add, delete and view files from a flash drive. If desired, the files on the flash drive can be password protected.

Connect works through the SanDisk mobile app, available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Kindle Fire and Android devices. A USB flash drive can work wirelessly for up to four hours on a single charge. The range of the wireless connection is 45 meters. Connect is available in 16 GB ($ 49.99) and 32 GB ($ 59.99) versions.

If your smartphone has run out of internal memory, Connect can be useful for transferring unnecessary files and freeing up space. The flash drive can also stream video to three devices at the same time.

The Verge authors note that the device has several drawbacks: the maximum speed of transferring files from a computer to a flash drive reaches only 6 MB / s, viewing files requires an extra wait, you cannot zoom into a photo in an Android application, and in an iOS application you won’t be able to view video files if they are not stored in a special format. Nevertheless, the idea of the device is quite interesting and one can hope that it will be continued.

For those who need more memory, SanDisk also released a hard disk with wireless file transfer, which is available in 32 GB ($ 79.99) and 64 GB ($ 99.99) versions. However, such solutions have competitors - Seagate and Kingston .
