The European Commission launched two investigations
Today it became known that the European Commission is launching two investigations. One was initiated in response to a complaint from Opera Software, which has already been reported before , and the second investigation will help to find out whether Microsoft refused to third-party developers creating MS-compatible programs to access specifications describing office document formats, some server components and .NET development platform.
Also on the Internet there were statements of another representative of the company Opera Software - Director of Communications Tora Odland. He expressed satisfaction that the European Commission did not defer consideration of the complaint. He also added that in fact the effect of the complaint is already being felt even without the conclusions of the European Commission: Microsoft hastened to inform the general public that their software products will support web standards more accurately and guaranteed to pass specialized tests (this, apparently, to the question of that IE 8 passed the Acid2 test ).
