Google, Apple and Facebook want to disclose NSA requests

Yesterday, the largest computer companies, including Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn and Twitter, appealed to the authorities for permission to disclose the terms of cooperation with the National Security Agency. As reported by Reuters, this is stated in their joint message to the government and Congress. In addition, the companies created a petition to WhiteHouse.gov for additional reporting from the NSA about espionage.

Copies of the letter were sent to the US Department of Justice, US National Intelligence Director James Clapper, and the head of the National Security Agency, General Keith Alexander.

The US public has the right to public debate about the appropriateness of such funds. Foreign users of American computers are also concerned about the security and privacy of their correspondence and communication, ”the message says ( its full text ).

Earlier this week, a FISA court called on the US government to partially disclose the details of the 2008 decree on the prescriptions of Yahoo! collaborate with the NSA. By court decision, the materials must be published until August 26.
