Online advertising surpasses television

Internet advertising is gaining momentum so rapidly that in less than four years it will catch up and overtake its main rival - television advertising.

Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) specialists are confident that by 2010, annual investment in banners and a prepaid search will exceed investment in TV spots about the benefits of live yogurt and the power of detergent with magic granules. Already today, the head of IAB, Guy Phillipson, reports, online advertising has gained 10% of the entire advertising market, has overtaken radio and magazines and is not going to stop there.

The most popular in web advertising are paid search results, in second place - ads. Pop-ups account for only 0.7% of the online advertising pie, reports Silicon.com .
