Russian court for the first time put cybercriminals
One hundred thousand rubles of fine and eight years in prison — this sentence was announced by the Balakovo City Court of the Saratov Region against three Russians who blackmailed online casino owners and bookmakers.
Ivan Maksakov, Alexander Petrov and Denis Stepanov organized DDoS attacks on their chosen victim sites, after which they turned to their owners with the requirements to transfer a kind of ransom in the amount of 40 thousand US dollars to an account in a Latvian bank.
