Homemade robot gymnast mastered quad flips

Japanese robotics enthusiast Hinamitetu continues to experiment with his robot gymnast. He made the first version of the robot in 2010 , and the 16th release was released a couple of days ago. Judging by the video, the robot has learned to do a quadruple reverse flip from the crossbar.

The homemade robot Hinamitetu in recent versions has a height of 45 cm and weighs about 5.9 kg. Little is known about its technical stuffing. The author says that the acceleration sensor is installed in the “head” of the structure: on the basis of its data, the robot determines when to open for landing. From previous videos you can also understand that the design uses a microcontroller PIC16F628A.

The 12th version of the robot has learned to land on its feet.
