How could the file system navigation be accelerated?

I think anyone will agree - while working at a computer, we often run around My Computer, look for daddies, go into them, look for more daddies and / or files in them ... often.

Problem
I believe that searching the folder of another folder or file takes a long time (I use Windows XP myself, the file manager is Windows Exporer). Even if the files are sorted alphabetically, they are searched for a long time (sometimes).

Decision
I also think that such a rule is in effect (almost always) - we will often go to what we often visited. Therefore, it would be possible to do this — the first are not the files and folders that were the first in alphabetical order, but those that we most often (or the last time, as you would like) entered. Those. thus, the eye will need to be found almost immediately.
')
Minuses
So far I have found such a minus - all folders are sorted by frequency of use (descending). Convenient for the first few folders and files - for the subsequent horror. We entered them 1-2 times, but no order. therefore, it would be possible to do so - the first N folders are the most frequently used, then in alphabetical order. and how to separate them.

thank
for your attention, waiting for comments!
